Post 11 Update for Week of May 10, 2021

From the Kitchen: We have our regular Menu. Beginning March 29th, food and beverages will be served on regular kitchenware.

DAILY SPECIALS, available 11 am – 2 pm and 4 pm – 7 pm. Limited availability.

MONDAY – Pizza is now available for Lunch.
TUESDAY – $.75 Wings and $1.00 Miller Lite.
WEDNESDAY May 12, 2021 Spaghetti w/ meat sauce and Garlic Bread.
THURSDAY May 13, 2021 Fried Chicken (2 Piece White or Dark, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, and a roll).

Post Meeting Tuesday, May 11 at 7:30 pm. The American Legion Department Service Officer for Maryland, Adrian Gamboa, will be attending our May Post Meeting. He will be explaining the different types of claims for Veterans and eligible dependents. He will also give a quick overview of all the recent changes within the Veterans Benefits Administration and the Veterans Health Administration. There will be an opportunity to ask questions. Nominations for officers for the upcoming year will be accepted at the Post meeting.

New Member Orientation, Thursday, May 13 at 7:00 pm. Please RSVP at 301-662-9345 if you would like to attend.

Ace of Spades on Tuesday’s at 7:00 pm. The new Jackpot is estimated to be $1800 on Tuesday May 11, 2021. You must be a Legion, SAL, or Auxiliary member to win. New rules are available on the back table in the lounge.

Lucky Three Daily drawing for June – Tickets are available to purchase or to sign out to sell to your family and friends. Tickets are $10.00 and have two numbers on each ticket. You have 60 chances to win during the month of June. Winners will be contacted. More information can be found in the May Newsletter. If you would like to purchase tickets, but are not able to come to the Post, please send a check (Payable to “FSK Post 11”) and mail to American Legion, c/o Lucky Three, 1450 Taney Avenue, Frederick, MD 21702

Please remember Keep Safe, Keep Others Safe, Wear Masks, Wash Your Hands, and Social Distance.
Even with the capacity restrictions lifted, our seating remains about the same due to the distancing requirement. We are allowed to have up to 10 people at a table now, excluding the tables at the bar. Please use the folding chairs if you need to add seats to your table. If you are sitting at a table at the bar, you can set drinks, food, etc. on the bar. There are still no single bar seats.
We will continue to wipe down tables, seating, menus, and even pens.

Flag Cleaning: Saturday, May 15 starting at 9:00 am in the banquet hall. Help is needed to clean and sort the flags that we put out for Memorial Day.

Post Everlasting will be conducted on Wednesday, May 19th and Thursday, May 20th. Wednesday service will be for those members who passed prior to April 15, 2020. Thursday service will be for those members who passed after April 15, 2020. Please RSVP at 301-662-9345, if you plan on attending. We plan to live stream these services through Facebook. Due to Covid restrictions, we are not able to offer the lite refreshments after the service. Mask or face shield will be required to be worn during the services.

SAL Steak Night – Monday, May 24th from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. For tickets, please see Jeff Seiler or Wayne Fox. No Pizza will be served that evening.

Flag placement at Mt. Olivet: Saturday, May 29 (rain date May 30th) at 9:00 am. If you would like to put flags out at another cemetery, please contact Keith Clevenger at 301-514-6641 or by email kefers@hotmail.com.

Memorial Day Ceremony to be held on Monday, May 31 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery starting at noon. Due to Covid restrictions, we are not able to offer the lite refreshments after the service. In case of inclement weather, the service will be held at the Post home.

  1. With the Governors new statement the other day… Any idea when when will see bands again? Does the entertainment committee need any help with this??
